1. Motorola Defy Mini XT320 (Rs 10,000)

Running on Android Gingerbread OS, Defy Mini is an entry level phone with a 600 MHz processor & 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen and 320×480 pixel resolution., 256 colors and 180 ppi pixel density. It sports a 3 MP back camera and a VGA front camera. Like the other handsets in defy series, even this one is dust and water resistant. It comes with 512 MB RAM & 512 MB ROM(only 120 MB user available). Internal storage seems to be the problem with most of the entry level android phones. Defy Mini comes with Dual-SIM(GSM + GSM) capabilities. 2. Micromax A84 Superfone Elite (Rs 9,999)

A84 Superfone Elite comes with a 1GHz processor and a 5 MP camera with LED flash alongwith a 0.3 megapixel front camera for video chatting. It is equipped with 4.0 inch WVGA Screen with IPS Panel. Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, Wi-Fia nd 3G connectivity are basic features provided. Its 1630 mAh battery will deliver 5 hrs of talk time and 160 hrs of standby time. Like recently launched Micromax phones, this one too will have voice assistant AISHA pre-installed on it.

3. HTC ChaCha (Rs 9,999)

At the launch it started above the price of Rs 15000. But finally it has fallen below Rs 10,000, thus making it an affordable handset with plenty of features. This QWERTY keypad android phone runs on Gingerbread OS. Its screen size is 2.6 inches with TFT capacitive touchscreen display.  The screen resolution at 480 x 320 pixels, 222 ppi pixel density with 256K colors gives a good visual experience even for the small screen. Running on HTC Sense 2.1 UI, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Along with the VGA fron facing camera ChaCha is equipped with 5 MP rear auto-focus camera with LED flash having geo-tagging and face detection features. It can record 720 x 480 videos at 30fps. It is powered by  a 800 MHz processors, 512 MB ROM and 512 MB RAM. With microSD memory can be expanded up to 32GB, though it comes with 2GB card included. 1250 mAh Li-Ion battery delivers up to 7 hrs 30 min of talk time.

4. Nokia C6  (Rs 9,999)

Nokia C6 is a Symbian-based smartphone combining the benefits of a 3.2 inch TFT resistive touchscreen with a full slide out QWERTY keyboard. Running on Symbian OS v9.4 this handset is powered by a 434 MHz ARM 11 processor with 128 MB RAM and 240 MB of internal storage. Storage can be extended up to 16GB with microSD, 2GB microSD card is bundled with the device. Its 5 MP autofocus with LED flash can record VGA videos at 30fps. The front facing camera is only QVGA. Battery capacity is 1200 mAh giving 7 hours of talk time. For connectivity it comes bundled with Wifi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, microUSB & GPS apart from a variety of sensors.

5. Karbonn A18 (Rs 9,790)

Karbonn A18 is equipped with a 4.3 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a of 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 217 ppi pixel density. This dual SIM (SIM 1 supports 3G and SIM 2 supports 2G) smartphone runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS with 1GHz single core processor and 512 MB RAM. It boasts of  a 5MP auto-focus camera with LED flash and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera for video calling. This is the best front facing camera in all these phones. A18 has 2.55 GB internal memory (503 user available), which can be expanded up to 32GB with via microSD card slot A 18 comes with a 1500 mAh battery which delivers up to 5 hours talk-time and 200 hours of standby time.
